There's a hole in my pants dear Liza...

You're likely to look at this outfit and think, where's the hole? Sadly you may not be able to see London or France today, but thankfully you can't see my underpants. These kelly green bottoms I'm wearing would be a replacement pair sent to me by Biscuit General Store following a little pants mishap....

A while back, I hopped in the car for a whirlwind trip to Halifax and back in less than 24 hours with Barb and Candice for the East Coast Bloggers meet-up- we had a chance to catch a bit of the conference and do a little downtown shopping with our other Maritime blogger pals.

One of my favourite independent shops in Halifax, Biscuit General Store, was having a massive sale that many of us couldn't pass up. I bought these bottoms since they were incredibly comfortable (and my favourite shade of green). Unfortunately, on their first wear- I discovered the inside seam of one leg has already torn while at a friend's for supper.

Not only did Biscuit see my tweet and respond immediately, but they offered to send me a new pair via mail or refund me my purchase since I didn't live close to their shop. Now that's good customer service!

I opted to try another pair and when they arrived on my doorstep, enclosed was also a little note and a $5 off coupon towards my purchase. They may carry my favourite brands, but knowing that a store stands behind their merchandise and cares about their customers, I will definitely shop there again.

(As for the pants, the second pair has held up!)

These cropped pants I picked up from H&M when we were in Halifax the other weekend for the East Coast Fashion Bloggers meet-up. These pants weren't the perfect fit, I'll admit- they fit well in the waist but were a little overly spacious in the butt and pelvic region. However, I loved the colour and for work the fit was fine because it allows me to move around a lot and still be comfortable. For $17.95 who cares if you accidently sit in bubble solution or paint when you're sitting on the floor working with a child!

Actually the H&M experience was a little of a let down this time- the colours and designs (on the rack) were very promising, but once I got a lot of items into the dressing room, I found too many things didn't fit right, looker cheaper than usual, or were too sheer.

And unless I'm in love, I don't bother with sheer items because they doesn't stand alone as a wearable garment. If you buy a sheer blouse, you need to make sure you have the right fitting top in your wardrobe to make it decent in public situations. While it's strategic and sometimes acceptable to have your bra mildly visible, it's a no-go for every-day wear or work.

Normally I'm excited to shop H&M because we don't have one in our city and it's my go-to spot for super affordable basics and trendy pieces. Crossing my fingers for better luck next time!

Finally getting into back into the swing of blogging and outfit posts! It kind of feels like coming out of hibernation! With all the colourful spring clothing in shops and a few new additions to my wardrobe I'm finally feeling inspired to post my outfits again. And it certainly helps that there's more daylight hours and warmer weather! I've finally put away my winter clothing and just recently hauled my summer clothing out of storage. It's fun to find out what goodies you might have forgotten about!

double date night

The Outfit  Blouse (similar): Joe Fresh | Skirt (similar): Silvian Heach* | Tights-  Winners
Shoes- Nine West | Necklace- Banana Republic | Nail polishes: Gosh Flamingo & Milani Jewel Fx in Gold

Hello February 1st! Although we're still in the thick of winter, at least we're getting a wee bit more daylight- which should mean that you'll be seeing much less of my patio doors and my back deck!

I wore this particular outfit for a double dinner date- the only flaw of pairing a polyester blouse with an elastic waist skirt was that they seemed to team up against me! Without a belt to keep everything in place, the waist line kept sliding up since the fabric of the skirt provided minimal (or no) friction to keep it in place! Got to love wardrobe malfunctions...

This coming weekend I'm looking forward to a friend's baby shower Friday evening followed by a trip to Fredericton to drink wine with a group of girlfriends- should be an awesome time!
